Poison and Wine {Open}
Oct. 5th, 2014 09:44 amSiren Cove is quaint, like the French countryside had been quaint; perfectly picturesque, enough so to sell as postcards and the like. People bustle about, steaming cup of coffee in one hand, smartphone in the other, all caught up in their own little worlds, oblivious to Helena, for the most part.
Her own fashion sense helps her stand out from the crowd, somewhat; she wears an intricate, brown skirt, embroidered with golden floral designs, and a corset of a deep rose color, to match the light coating of powder on her cheeks. She appears to have walked off the set of some BBC period drama, long, braided hair, brown boots, and all. People occasionally stare, but they only smile, partly in mockery, partly in admiration, for, to them, Helena looks all the world like a carefree women; just a little enthusiastic for the past.
She wears a smile, but keeps her real pleasure to herself; less than a day in town, and she already has her first commission, one that pays rather well, both in money, and in information regarding Hermia's whereabouts. Let the world think her ridiculous; Siren Cove has no idea of the storm she brings with every stride.
She spots him leaving the zoo; he's rather easy to spot, ginger hair, freckles all over his face, and green eyes that sparkle with youth and innocence. Falling in time beside him, she feels as predatory as though she were stalking a dove. Once, such a feeling might have put her off; but years in her line of work, and the knowledge of what awaited for her in payment, squashes any lingering regret in her way as she falls into one of her oldest routines.
"Oh, pardon me, monsieur," she exclaims, pressing close against the back of the red-haired man, letting her nails fall against the exposed skin of his neck, briefly digging into flesh as she makes a show of keeping her balance.
The man barely has time to turn and glance at Helena before she blows a quick charm in his face, erasing her image from his memory. With another charm, she hides herself in the alleyway between two buildings, watching as her magic does its work, and the freckled man staggers to his knees, clutching at his chest as he struggles to breathe.
OOC: Yes, Helena just poisoned Fabrice outside of the zoo, because I haven't been mean to my characters in awhile. Fabrice will be getting an open tag in this entry as well, which anyone can reply to. Anyone can have seen Helena brush against Fabrice, but your character won't find any trace to connect her to the poison, not yet.
